Working on New Solo Material

Now that BorkHavn is finished I started working on new music for my new solo albums. Yes multiple! The last 7 years I recorded quite some music, but never got to finishing it. So I'm slowly starting to open all these projects and begin working on those tracks. One of my solo projects is going to be about dinosaurs so hence the new name for my studio called the 'Jurassic' studio now and the accompanying Jurassic Park T-shirt. My Girlfriend Sonja took this picture for the upcoming Schallwelle sampler release, but I thought it was a nice idea to share it with you as well. I'm also working on the music I recorded a couple of years ago for two planetarium shows. That will be released in the future as well with some new tracks and I have another surprise album planned with old and new material. So lots to come.

During the work on this new music I did encounter a problem though. It turned out I used a Virus TI polar as a plugin and didn't record this as audio because I thought I would never sell it. I only had the midi notes. But because of the divorce I did sell it :/ I had to find a solution for that. So the first new addition to the 'Jurassic Studio' is this used Access Virus TI2 desktop module. Fortunately I did backup the sounds I programmed for it so all projects I used it in are working again. Another nice thing to mention is that I did the artwork for two of these upcoming albums together with my youngest daughter Tamara van Osenbruggen. She is learning media design in school. I'm very proud of the outcome and will share it with you soon. I will try to put more updates online from now on about the progress of my ongoing projects. PrimiTiveS Artwork Animation

I made a little animation of the artwork for the upcoming collaboration album together with Remy Stroomer. This animation and all the artwork was made in Cinema 4D.

PrimiTiveS Cover and Release Date

Just before the end of the year I had another meeting with Remy Stroomer to work on our collaboration album called 'PrimiTiveS'. Initially this project was planned for 2012, but we didn't make that deadline. We did set another dead line though. The release of this album is planned for the 6th of April during the yearly E-day festival in Oirschot that is organized by my record label Groove Unlimited. We also worked on the artwork some more and in the picture on the left you see the cover of the album. The album will be released by Groove Unlimited and will be for sale as a regular CD and and MP3 and FLAC download. I hope to update you with more news, artwork, soundclips etc soon. But I thought this was good news to start 2013 with and I wanted to share it with you. We are going to work some more now on the final mixing, mastering etc. Talk to you soon!

More Apollo Artwork

I promised last week to show you more of the Apollo artwork when it was done. Well now it is. Bart just send me the last files. I'm sure there will be some little tweaks before it is finally pressed but this is globally what the back will look like. You can also already see the track list. The song titles are final and so is the order they will be in. The track lengths can be different on the CD, since I'm still working hard on some of the tracks. Another thing you might notice is that the mastering will be done this time by my good friend Hans Landman. We will also work again on one track together like we did on my AtmoSphere album.

And this will be the CD itself. You can actually put the moon in your CD player eventually. There will be more text on there later on as well. I do have some other pictures for the inside of the booklet, but there I still need to write all the text for those. Pfffff so much to do :) In the mean time I'm also working on a new theme for my website. That will be in Apollo style too when I'm done with the CD and when I'm sure when the release will be. And the last thing then will be a nice promo video for the album. So you can imagine I guess that I'm a bit busy here and that I won't be able to write as much on this blog as I normally do. But I'll try to keep you updated from time to time.

AtmoSphere Cover Art Impression

Yesterday I received the final version of the artwork for my new 'AtmoSphere' album that will be released on the 11th October this year. It was a cooperation by two people that I admire a lot for their creativity. The background picture is a 3D render that was made by Bart Auceps. A very talented artist that did a lot for me already at my day job. The typography and art direction was done by Kenny Laurenson. Another very talented artist. I met him recently, but liked his work a lot. He made also a new logo for me. Very retro I know, but that is just how I like it :) The cover off course represents the earths atmosphere and the different layers of air that are in there. This will be the theme of the album. I hope you like it. They also made some more graphics for me that will be used for the CD itself, the booklet in the CD and the back. But they are not finished yet, since I still need to write the text for that myself.
